I bought 09 the day it came out and immediately put in my 08 setup. It seemed to do okay; I had to fix one or two things dealing with handling but that was all. I was running much slower though. I was running, at best, 49.270. I jump online and notice many others are running my times as well; except for a few. They were down in the low 48's, even 47's. I figured it was something to do with the settings. I checked, and all of my game settings were turned off. Hmm....
What gives?
In NASCAR 09, you can no longer just get a setup from someone and jump online and be competitive. The developers at EA wanted to make you to actually have to play some of the game first.
When you start the game, all of your driver ratings are at 50. You can earn rep and performance points to better your car.
THIS IS APPLICABLE TO ONLINE AS WELL.
I played the Sprint Cup Driver challenge or whatever for 30 minutes and added all my points to my Superspeedway engine. I was instantly running in the low 48's.
Can't figure out why your 48.000 NASCAR 08 setup is running 49.500 in NASCAR 09?
PLAY THE GAME.....

I Noticed the same thing when i first played it and didn't know what to do, that is true what you said but another way is to go to the setup page and put it on Veteran, this changes everything like as thought your 08 setup was put in your car all along. then use the sliders and put anything that goes to speed a full speed. you may have to mess with the wedge and tires but it should be spot on.

After reading this post I applied my points to the engine for SS and gained 1.5 seconds @ Daytona I'm not seeing the 46/47 lap times that I see some of these guys running but for only having 60 points to use it wasn't bad LOL.
Thanks for the tip.

well they have a little 'glitch'. For some reason, if you max out like the Superspeedway engine and leave the rest, you run faster than maxing all of them out.
Thats what their saying on the EAsports boards anyway. Wierd, hopefully there will be a patch to fix this...lol

yeah lucky you, i did all the challenges to be "faster" before going online now i find out that im screwed because of it im like 100% sure you can restart your career however, im not sure if you keep those rep points. Im pretty sure you do....perhaps start the game with autosave OFF, restart you career and see, if it does let you keep them, then yea you lose some stats, but so what? You can get them back easy. If you DONT keep your rep, then that kinda sucks but you have not lost what you had. Just restart yours system.

If you keep clicking to the left when your on your rear wing one of the arrows will disappear , you will gain about 1 mph at Daytona.

When you get a right set up. I tried a Daytona race and was only running 186mph on the back stretch and 175mph in the corners by your self. I tried a race with the set up I had. How do u get to 200mph? Whats a good gear set up?
