Folks...I'm getting a better grasp on this setup and will be posting it soon. So far, I run a 48.4 on tona. How does it compare so I know where I'm at? Please advise

My overall opinion is NASCAR 08 is a POS compared to 05. Seems to me EA hired a bunch of computer nerds who know very little about how a car really works. In real life, you balance your car so that you have even tire ware to the best possible. Of course your RF will always ware out first in real life, but I'm not quite sure what the nerds of 08 are looking for.
On Daytona, NORMAL Setting, my car seems fast...I run a 47.4-47.5 consistant. My car walks away from the CPU cars right away and my car has great straight away speed, tops though is 194 (I think you 200+ guys are liars), but my car scrubs speed on the banking. But I still walk away from the CPU cars.
Dega is the biotch though. I have very little time on this track though. But, dega's 2 & 4 turns are a biotch to exit. I don't think this is the case in real life. I scrub tons of speed in the corners and the CPU cars are much faster on this track...even with my tona setup. I will be posting what I have soon as soon as I can get something that's worth handing out.
I still want to know some realistic times ya'll are getting so I can have a base time to measure up to.

FordRacingJim-
Its good to see someone for the old site on here. I've changed my gamertag since the old '05 days, but I remember sharing setups with you and sones. Anyway, I'm working on my super speedway setups little by little right now. I've gotten the gearing and aero in the general ballpark, but as you know there is a lot more things to adjust in '08. I'm gonna go check my best lap time on dega right now, but I think its like 49.167 or something like that. I also got the 360 wheel for 08' and it has been helpful. I will pm you my gear ratios in a min or two. I'm looking forward to some open setup discussion like we had back in the old days; it makes us all go faster!

yeah i have a simple setup for daytona, put100% grille tape on during qualifying and 85% during the race. put ur rear spoiler down as low as it can go, and put ur front suspension down as low as possible. oh yeah make sure ur settings for assists r on hardcore and that is the ticket for speed. i go 196 but do any of u have a better setup may u plz post it

ok. finished getting my shadowrun fix and just threw in my Nascar 08. I was a little worng in my initial post. My fastest lap time (no draft) on dega is 50.011 (FRJ, if you're getting 47's & 48's I'd have to say your going in the right direction.) As I said earlier, I've only adjusted my Drivetrain settings and barely tweeked my aero settings. Without other cars to draft with, I am hitting 194-5 coming into turns 1 & 3 and holding 184-5 coming out of the corners. I'm going to start adjusting the suspension now.
PS:
Do we need to start making a distinction wether these setups for are Nextel or C.O.T.s? Do the setups transfer efficiently? I would assume all setups on or in this thread are in regard to the C.O.T.
EDIT
MY posted time is with the Nextel car. Obviously the COT is a lot slower with the stricter aero rules and what not. I was able to load my original setup to the cot, but as I just said it was obviosly slower. Best time with COT so far on dega with the same setup: 51.100 191-2 on the straights

Ok...here it is. Dega should need a little tweaken, but here goes on main set up, change the slide bars to Gearing Full Right -------> Handling full left <--------- Downforce Full left <------- Suspension Full right ------> The set FL Fender flare 0 Grill tape 80% Spolier 55* FR Fender flare 0 Tires FL 30.0 psi Camber 8.0* Caster 3.0* RL 30.0 psi Camber 1.8* RF 39.5 psi Camber -0.5* Caster 3.0* RR 38.5 psi Camber 0.0* Wedge 53% Front bias 50.0% Left bias 47% Rear gear 3.50:1 1st 7.39 2nd 5.17 3rd 4.08 4th 3.06 Sterring 1.5 Steering lock 5.0 This is a very compfortable setup and seems fast. I have raced it on line yet. Please advise me what you think and if you don't like it, go pound sand and post your chit.

The setup above I posted i get 48.2's, but on Dega I'm about a 1/2 slower than a fast qualifier. I'm clocking a 49.4 and this guy clocked a 48.80 something. My setup really works well on tona though.

The best I could run with your daytona setup was a 49.1 with no draft. Now, I'm not that bad at this game, but am I missing something. What is the slowest speed you run through the corners?

Hello Jim, I remember seeing you around , can't remember where but oh well I will try your setup tonight, I was getting poles a few days ago with my setup for tona but now im gettting 2nd and 3rds more often. I run around 48.5 qualifying for the COT. My setup is as follows. I use the wheel as well. Tape at 100 for qual , 85 for racing Spoiler all the way down. all gears one notch to the left.

What is the slowest speed you run through the corners? If I remember correct I'm at 185-184 in the corners. This setup is very competitive on Tona, but not Dega. 49.1 I would work on your line. I go all the way to the yellow on coners almost.
